School Grants K-12

Grants To Schools K-12
The McGinty Family Foundation welcomes your proposal to the Grants To Schools K-12. This program supports the Foundation's objective of recognizing and encouraging outstanding K-12 schools who develop and implement innovative classroom programs and activities to advance the learning process of their students. Applications must be Cuyahoga or surrounding county schools chartered under the Ohio Department of Education.

Proposals to fund public, private and parochial K-12 school programs in Cuyahoga and contiguous counties plus Lorain and Ashtabula County. Requests for up to $10,000.00 are considered for innovative educational programs, including resource materials and/or technological materials to support the program. Other educational programs that enhance the curriculum or attendance at in-service programs or workshops that enhance the curriculum. The proposed work should engage students in critical thinking and problem solving that deepen their knowledge of standards-based subject matter. The work should also improve students’ habits of inquiry, self-directed learning, and critical reflection.

Program Evaluation
Recipients are required to submit an evaluation of the program along with a list of expenses and receipts within one year from the date of receipt of funds. Funds are paid by bank check directly to the school or school system.

What We Do Not Fund
In general, we do not provide funding for operational phases of established programs, capital requests (which includes the construction, purchase, renovation, and/or furnishing of facilities), equipment, conferences and workshops, films, television and/or radio programs, endowments, development campaigns, or research/studies unless they are an integral part of a larger program budget being considered for funding.
